Conquering Kilimanjaro: Tips and Hints
Africa’s tallest mountain has been conquered by many different people, either as a stand-alone challenge, or as part of numerous African safaris. You may remember back in 2009 the African Walking Company led nine celebrities from the UK to the top of Kilimanjaro, raising over $5 million for Comic Relief through the BT Red Nose Climb. They reached the snow-capped peak standing at 19,336 feet tall, going through five different climatic zones, from the tropics to the arctic and finally to Uhuru peak. This trip, and the variety of celebrities involved, shows that Kilimanjaro can be conquered by almost anyone. If you’re thinking about a Tanzania safari, it’s well worth looking into conquering Africa’s highest peak… or at least seeing it as part of your trip!
