Improving Crosswalk Safety

In years gone by, crosswalk safety was not as big an issue in many towns and cities. Eventually, certain methods of identifying pedestrian traffic and paths were put into practice, such as lines painted on the street. However, such measures were not adequate as they were often difficult to see and faded over time. Regulations concerning drivers yielding to pedestrians were typically not followed unless signage was installed to enforce such laws.
